Lighting

The type of lamp used will largely determine the growth rate of your plants.

Lighting Options

-High Intensity Discharge Lamps

We use HID lights between 100 watts and 1000 watts, depending on the maximum wattage acceptable given the internal dimensions of the specific chamber.

Metal Halide System

-Metal Halide Lamps produce light with a peak intensity shifted toward the "blue" end of the spectrum compared with natural sunlight. This type of lighting is best for optimizing plant and foilage growth in your garden.

High Pressure Sodium

-High Pressure Sodium Lamps produce light with a peak intensity shifted toward the "red" end of the spectrum compared with natural sunlight. This type of lighting is used to optimize blooming, vegetable, and fruit growth.

Combo. System

We recommend a combination of both metal halide and HP-Na lamps for the serious grower. BSN offers a lamp that accepts both metal halide and HP-Na bulbs. During the foliage growth cycle, one uses the metal halide bulb switching to the HP-Na during the blooming cycle.

-Flourescent Lamps

BSN uses flourescent lights when space must be saved, that is when manufacturing a chamber to fit beneath a bed or closet. Seed propagation and clone rooting both flourish beneath flourescent lighting. All flourescents are standard wattage, 40 watts per four foot bulb.
